LUFC Set to Resume Practice

Lakewood United is now allowing practices to begin in preparation for the fall season. Please look for an email regarding practice schedules from your coach or team manager in the days to come.
At this point, we are assuming that the fall season is still going to be held. If the OHTSL travel season does get cancelled, we will be offering fall soccer programming using guidance from the state of Ohio and the Lakewood Recreation Department.

Per the governor, the state of Ohio is currently in Phase 2 of the Responsible RestartOhio initiative, which allows for competitive practice and intra-club scrimmages. If Ohio gets the green light to enter phase 3, leagues and clubs may start playing games with teams outside of their local organizations. This designation will be required for us to have travel games.

As your son / daughter returns to practice, we are mandating that all player, coaches, and spectators follow these guidelines:

Players, coaches, officials athletic trainers, and officials

Players, coaches, officials, athletic trainers, and officials must conduct daily symptom assessments. Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home. Coaches, officials, and athletic trainers must wear a face covering if attending to an injured player, preferably a medical-grade mask, except for one of the following reasons:

  • Facial coverings are not advisable for health reasons. (Written justification must be provided to Lakewood United board, upon request, explaining why an athletic trainer is not required to wear a facial covering when attending to an injured player. At minimum, facial coverings (masks) should be cloth/fabric and cover an individual’s nose, mouth, and chin.)

Masks should be worn by players to / from the field of play and only taken off during play.

Spectators

  • Spectators must conduct daily symptom assessments. Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home.
  • Six-feet social distancing must be maintained between individuals.
  • No congregating before or after practices or games is permitted.
  • Wear a mask in the following situations:
    • While in indoor locations that are not residences
    • When riding in shared vehicles
    • When outdoors and unable to consistently maintain a distance of 6' or more from individuals who are not members of your family

* Please note, children under 10 are specifically exempted from wearing masks
